"Poetry comes at things through particulars, by means of images, and it doesn't deal so easily with generalities. Its mode is to cherish without limit. You could say it is idolatrous art. Some poems, the great poems, are true to their specific situations deep down, but they also have a universal quality that lets them live again and again, even in apparently unrelated circumstances." -Galway Kinnell

risks in an alphabetical order waking up the dictionary
lovely turn, sneza. i especially like the contradiction in the idea of taking risks but being restrained/constrained in a pre-established order. as to say taking a risk should also and could also happen while following boundaries constructed by someone else. a very nice twist occurs in the second line -- i like it.
thanks! this verse refers to harryette mullen and her "sleeping with the dictionary," so i'm following the rules for this renga. btw--hackers have deleted all the e-mails from my inbox and all the contacts from my address book. please send me and e-mail at szabic2@uic.edu or szabic2@gmail.com, so i can have your contact again.
